When your vehicle with the VIA-T device passes through a highway toll lane, an antenna detects its presence. If correctly read, the device emits a single beep, the traffic light turns green, and the barrier lifts. The authorized speed to pass through the barrier ranges between 20 and 40 km/h. If it does not emit a beep or emits more than one, it was not read correctly and the traffic light will remain red. In that case, you must use a VIA-T lane to exit the highway, and do not need to collect a ticket.
